My clients achieve greater emotional well-being. They gain skills to enable them to be resilient to the stresses and strains of life and to build better relationships. They are put in touch with their unconscious motives, clarify their life-goals, and make plans to reach them.
Discussion focusses on clients goals and the obstacles they face in reaching them. I like to meet every week or two with the client initially. Each session would conclude ideally with the client committing to attempt to take a step forward.
Guided self-help for low mood, posttraumatic stress, anxiety, repetitive thoughts, poor concentration & attention deficit, perfectionism, self criticism & low self esteem, pessimism, low tolerance of distress & frustration, poor quality of relationships & social isolation. Strategies include cognitive behavioural coaching, relaxation training, focussed & compassion meditation, mindful self-awareness, optimism training, self-esteem building, acceptance, coming to terms with trauma, relationship building.

Many years experience in community mental health services working with all age groups, and with families and couples.
