I am a certified teacher with endorsements in early childhood, elementary, middle school, and special education. I have a background in behavior management and curriculum modifications.
I currently work with a non-profit organization providing education for adults centering on relationships, self-advocacy, sexuality, and gender. I have presented workshops on negotiating needs and wants in relationships, responsible and ethical non-monogamy, and understanding conflict in relationships across the country.
I have a diverse background which has led me to coach clients with widely varying needs including:
FAMILY & PARENTING
supporting children with special needs
navigating the IEP process
developing positive behavior supports at home
balancing family and work life
RELATIONSHIPS & SEXUALITY
self advocating for their needs and wants in relationships
understanding conflict in relationships
exploring non-normative sexuality and relationship structures
coming out to friends and more...
Family & parenting clients that I have worked with have indicated that my coaching has helped them develop positive behavior systems that increase calm in their households and decrease undesired/inappropriate behaviors. They have reported lower levels of stress due to the use effective communication strategies.
Relationship & sexuality clients that I have worked with in the past report an increase in their overall happiness, greater fulfillment in relationships, higher levels of self-confidence, and skills to resolve conflicts effectively.
I listen to my clients and ask questions that require them to be reflective. I ask clients to develop a vision for what they want their life to look like and I provide support for creating motivational strategies, a list of potential barriers to success and possible solutions should those barriers arise. We work together to break their overall vision into smaller, more manageable goals and determine what work and support will be needed to achieve those goals. We map out what resources and support systems the client already has in place that could help their achieve their goals and vision and I provide additional resources as needed. Depending upon client needs, homework assignments are given between coaching sessions and self-assessment tools are provided to increase self-awareness, personal reflection, and accountability.
