Work Smarter, Not Harder

In work, sports and hobbies, success is often equated with how much time we spend working on something. For instance ‘I need to spend six hours in the gym this week, or ‘I need to work five hours overtime so the boss sees that I’m working hard.’

There is virtue in working hard, although focusing on quantity often results in nothing but increased pressure and stress, and the quality is sometimes lower as a result. Focus instead on quality of work and let the time taken be secondary. You will achieve more, and will enjoy doing it.

I totally agree. In general, overtime work simply proves that you are inefficient at your job. I don't mean to say that this is true for everyone and for all professions- I'm just saying that work-life-balance and setting realistic goals are keys to working smart.
