While I have had my fair share of social services, coaching, relationship and sociology training and sudying - none of these things were as valuable as real life experience.
At a very young age I had experiences with pain, disappointment, grief, family issues, divorce, career change, incarceration and behavorial issues. These were issues that affected me personally (direct) or someone really close to me (indirectly). Through these experiences my talents and strengths were highlighted and brought to the light. I realized that I was able to adapt to any situation, no matter how bad, and come up with a solution that was acceptable for myself. From that point on I never quite saw the world the same. I don't have issues, confrontation, problems, or any other of those negative connoatations.
I HAVE CHOICES, DECISIONS, AND A CHANCE TO COME UP WITH A SOLUTION.
This is the approach I take when coaching: Every obstacle you face in your life CAN be removed. If you can change your mind, you can change your life.
