Emma Langstaff

My name is Emma Bartholomew and I am a counsellor and accredited mediator and conflict coach. I have over 15 years experience of working in the social housing sector where I have helped people with their neighbour and community disputes. It was this experience that led me to qualify as a mediator and conflict coach.

I am passionate about helping people explore and find new ways of resolving the difficulties that they have been experiencing as a result of an actual or threatened dispute or conflict.

In mediation I work with the parties to hear each others view of the situation and to explore and find new ways forward in a safe and non threatening environment.

In conflict coaching I work with the client on a one to one basis for between 1 and 3 sessions, with each session lasting around 1/2 hours.
As your conflict coach, I will help you to reflect on how you are currently dealing with the situation and give you the time and space to explore different perspectives, ways of communicating and responding to help you move forward and support yourself

My practice is based upon the principles of effective interpersonal communication skills which focuses on the nature and quality of relationships and how to resolve the issues that are important to us and for those that are living or working with each other.
