Shalanda Tookes Wilder earned her B.S. in Human Development/Psychology and a dual M.A. in Professional Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy from Southern Christian University in Montgomery, Alabama. She also completed post-graduate coursework in Organizational Development and Human Resources Management. She is a certified career coach and certified interview professional.
Often referred to as the Queen of Time Management & Goal Setting, Shalanda works with individuals who want to stop wasting time and begin reaching more of their goals and dreams. She believes there is no such thing as not enough time so she created and uses her proven 5-step system to show people how to free up their time, increase productivity, and meet more goals. She works with organizations on employee engagement and productivity so that companies can have happy workers and achieve their mission.
Over the years, Shalanda successfully transitioned from a career in sales to human services and finally to human resources and recruiting. In 2006, she began coaching professionally and centered her practice, TookesWilder Guidance, on relationship coaching. Since then, Shalanda has extended her practice to executive career coaching and recruiting where she helps career transitioners assess their next career move, set goals, and hone their interviewing skills using valuable information and techniques she learned during her time as a human resources professional and corporate recruiter.
Shalanda is a military brat and a military spouse who understands transitions all too well. Her husband and company CFO has served in the Army, Air Guard Reserves, and Navy. She seeks to teach military service members, their spouses, and employees seeking to elevate their career how to navigate career transitions. She has received invitations to speak to various groups that include recent grads, church groups, and women’s groups teaching them the value of goal setting, time management, and career development.
I help clients figure out what they want to do with their careers while incorporating time management and goal setting techniques that assist them in reaching personal and career goals.
My personality puts clients at ease. I am also straight-forward with clients requiring them to be honest with themselves and the effort they are putting in to achieve their goals. Personal happiness and career satisfaction often align with one another so having a therapeutic background allows me to coach the "whole person" if they need more than just career coaching.

My personal background is very similar to many of my clients. I used to have time management issues and have also gone through the various issues that come with career seeking like figuring out what career I wanted, transitioning from one industry to another, interviewing, and salary negotiation. I learned that time management and goal setting are extremely important when it comes to job hunting. Therefore, I learned what techniques work best for me in regards to time management as well and learned how to execute strategies to land my dream job. I use my educational background to add even more insight to their coaching. As a result, my clients learn how to use time management and goal setting to increase their job landing success.
