COURSE SYLLABUS:

1. Module 1 : Introduction

   In this course you will have an overview and examples of how to create your portfolio, homework assignments for ideas and accountability, and a 20-minute coaching call for further assistance. You can take extra coaching sessions or courses to dig deeper into any section of your portfolio.

2. Module 2 : About Me

   The “About Me” section of your portfolio is where you describe yourself by assessing your strengths, values, skills, accomplishments, interests. You will have a collection of worksheets and summaries that will, in black and white, lay out your personal assets that you take from one transition to the next. Sharing your interests gives people a way to connect with you and like you.

3. Module 3 : Career Management

   Career self-management gives you more freedom, more options, and more responsibility. Your portfolio is a tool for managing your career, documenting your successes, and tracking your goals. It helps to write it and say it out loud. You will have worksheets or examples for goals and planners.

4. Module 4 : Job Search Strategies

   Creating connections with like-minded people, interesting people and companies that share your values as well as practicing and learning skills you want to use will keep you employable in a competitive and changing world of work.

5. Module 5 : Job Search Tools

   In this section of your portfolio, you will have tips for how to create and include your master resume, cover letter, and thank you letter.

6. Module 6 : Community Involvement/Conclusion

   Involvement in your community gives you an opportunity to give back, use your passions and creativity, build skills you want to use, make important connections, and show your interests in your portfolio and cover letter.
