About me

I'm Emily Burrows, and I help big-hearted people make peace with their inner critic and craft healthier lifestyles, guided by self care and mindfulness. I guide them to:

For years I watched generous friends, family, coworkers, and students wear themselves out by putting their wellbeing and happiness last. My passion is helping you move from that state of fatigue and chronic stress, to a lifestyle that feels nourishing and full to the brim with acceptance and love.

I'm a body positive coach and yoga teacher, so we'll nurture the many dimensions of your life, instead of focusing on your weight and appearance. Your time on the yoga mat will be tailored to what your individual body needs in the moment.

I have 10+ years of experience and training in health behavior change, and 5+ years of experience teaching yoga and mindfulness. I'm a certified health coach through UNC Greensboro and a master's level health educator through UNC Chapel Hill. I'm also a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, so mindfulness, breath, and self compassion are integrated into my work with coaching clients.

HOW I LIKE TO COACH

As a coach, my goal is to help my clients learn how to tap into their own inner wisdom and guidance over the long haul. In our work together, I help them develop new skills, build confidence, dig into the big questions, and take meaningful action. I'm a trainer, a supportive ear, and an accountability partner all in one.

At the root of all of this work is self compassion. With self compassion we are so unwaveringly loyal to ourselves that we feel safe enough to face inner struggle, courageous enough to stretch out of our comfort zone, and so committed to living our potential that we pursue growth.

PROFESSIONAL AND LIFE EXPERIENCE

Like my clients. I used to feel like there would always be one more hurdle to clear before I could let go of worry, love my body, and put happiness on the radar. I was unfulfilled, sleep deprived, and deeply self critical, but it never seemed like I had enough time or energy to make changes.

It wasn't until I began to prioritize my self care that I realized that self care isn't a luxury. We NEED it to reach our full potential.

I didn't make lifestyle changes alone. Getting support was 100% essential to replacing long-ingrained habits with meaningful practices that had been waiting for me all along.

I know stress may feel inescapable right now, but I assure you: Self care will change that. Sometimes you truly need support to put yourself first. That's why I've made it my mission to help clients prioritize self care, too.

Fee description

Fees: from $80 USD to $1560 USD

Single sessions are $80. This includes a 60-minute coaching session, 2 email accountability check-ins following the session, and an audio meditation practice.

Monthly packages include 4 x 50-minute sessions per month, between-session emails (and phone check-ins where needed), email accountability check-ins following the end of your package, and audio meditation practices. Prices for monthly packages are:
1 month: $280
3 months: $810 ($270/month)
6 months: $1560 ($260/month)
