If so, this simple decision making model which outlines the stages of decision making will definitely help you out.

12 Steps to decision making

Try these steps to decision making and ask yourself these questions to break free of your inertia.  

  1. Identify your dilemma - What is the decision that you have to make?
  2. Be aware of deadlines - When is the decision needed by?
  3. Be aware of the present - What is today's date?
  4. Give the decision a level of importance and ask yourself if it is...

       - Trivial

       - Non-lethal

       - Worthwhile

       - Weighty

       - Life Changing

  5. Rate your indecisiveness level.  Are you:

       - Wishy-washy

       - Neutral

       - Partisan

       - Mind made up

  6. What is the best-case scenario around making this decision?
  7. What is the worst-case scenario around making this decision?
  8. Identify your gut feelings about making this decision, and list the plusses and minuses of each.
  9. What is your intuitive conclusion about this decision?
  10. What is your rational conclusion about this decision?
  11. What is the decision?
  12. What are your next steps?  Now that you've made the decision, what is your next action?
