It doesn’t matter how gifted you are as a life coach; building your coaching business can be hard work. It involves a lot of one-on-one communication with focussed, attentive listening, which can be draining, and more importantly, extremely time consuming.

Moving away from a fee-for-service business model to one that allows for less intensive coaching and even a passive income is the way to scale once you start growing. Running courses can be perfect for this.

But once you have decided to pull the trigger and start creating your own courses, the first question that arises is "What topics should I cover?" You know the area is personal development, but beyond that, you may be left scratching your head.

If you create courses that are not only enjoyable but also deal with topics that people already want to learn about, you are setting yourself up to really grow your coaching business.

The following are a few hot, unique and in demand personal development topic ideas for courses that can really help your life coaching business to blossom.

1.) HOW TO MEET AND DATE MORE PEOPLE

Relationships are one of the big things that people want help with. Some need help with existing relationships, but many can use a little (or a lot) of coaching to help them meet someone who could turn out to be something special. You can teach them how to do that.

In this course, you could start by doing some self-esteem building.  Help your students identify types of people that are appropriate, likely mates. Then you can teach methods that your clients can use to approach strangers and start conversations; offering tactics to help them ask others out is helpful too.

2.) HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED FOR WEIGHT LOSS AND FITNESS

Again, many people seek life coaching because they are struggling to lose weight or improve their fitness level. The biggest struggle for many, it seems, is actually getting to the gym or doing a work out. Many want to lose weight or become more fit and healthy, but a great proportion of these people lack the motivation and want help.

You could teach motivational strategies in this course. Guide students to create mantras that are tailored to their goals, teach them self-hypnosis NLP techniques, and educate them about different methods they can use to track their progress and feel more encouraged. You should supplement your course with materials that outline all of the positive benefits of a healthy diet and a fitness regimen to remind your students how important their weight loss and fitness goals are.

4.) Finding Your Ikigai

Have you heard of the Japanese concept of Ikigai, meaning "reason for being" or "life purpose"? The concept originates from Okinawa, Japan, where it is considered a fundamental aspect of a long and fulfilling life. It's been having a day in the news media, and it's a great time to take hold of the awareness hitting the West.

Your Ikigai course would be designed to help your clients discover their life purpose and align it with their career goals, personal passions, and values.

You could begin your course by getting your client to explore their current career and life goals. You'd also task them with investigating their strengths, skills, and interests. You'd bring this to life by including exercises and activities designed to help your clients clarify their goals and identify the activities that bring them the most fulfillment and joy. Some ideas for exercises include journaling, visualization techniques, and self-reflection exercises, all of which you could assign easily from your software portal.

By the end of your course, you could guide your clients in creating an actionable plan for to build and live a life aligned with their Ikigai. This may involve setting goals and milestones, developing new skills, and creating a roadmap for achieving their vision.

Overall, your Ikigai course would be designed to help clients find their purpose and meaning in life, and to create a career and lifestyle that reflects their values, passions, and strengths.

5.) The Art of Mindful Living:

Mindfulness is a hot topic right now, with regular articles appearing in places such as The Washington Post, USA Today, and Time magazine.

There are several potential topics you could include. Starting with mindfulness and meditation would be a good bet. This could include how to use different techniques for calming the mind, focusing the breath, and increasing present-moment awareness.. Mindful eating would be another popular topic. You could discuss how mindfulness can help more conscious interaction with food, as they learn to pay attention to the sensory experience of eating, such as the taste, texture, and smell of the food.

Mindful communication is a must-explore area in today's age of ubiquitous screens. Clients would learn the techniques of active listening, speaking from the heart, and being fully present with the person or people they are communicating with. Homework could involve empathy exercises or role-play scenarios to develop their communication skills.

Other topics could include self care practices such as journaling, nature walks, or gratitude exercises.

6.) Designing Your Dream Life

How many of your clients are looking for greater purpose and a more fulfilling life? Offer them the opportunity to take charge and design their own dream life.

You'd start off having them clarify and set their goals. You'd get your clients to identify their most important goals and create a vision for their dream life, including their personal and professional aspirations.

A worksheet asking your clients to assess their strengths, skills and resources would be a great idea. This might involve a self-assessment or feedback from others to help the client identify their unique abilities and opportunities for growth.

Based on their goals and strengths, you can help each client create an actionable plan to achieve their dream life. This plan would of course include specific action steps, timelines, and metrics for measuring progress, which you would help them set out. Journaling could help your clients to identify and overcome any limiting beliefs or fears that might be holding them back from achieving their dreams. Other techniques such as cognitive reframing, visualization, or mindfulness could help your clients shift their mindset and increase their confidence.

Create regular check-ins and assessments to assist your clients in measuring their progress and making adjustments to their plan as needed. An interacitve software program will help achieve this.

You could also start with an assessment to help them assess their current level of happiness and well-being for a baseline before the coursework begins.

You would want to then cover principles of positive psychology, including gratitude, resilience, and optimism, helping them to learn techniques for increasing positivity and reducing negative thinking patterns.
