Come on, get happy! Learn how to find true happiness.

Change is something that so many people resist - I've been there myself and you may be there now - but isn't 'resisting' really just the same as doing nothing at all?

So often do people find themselves in undesirable circumstances but instead of actively seeking a solution, many people sadly do nothing and hope that the situation will improve itself.

THE MOMENT OF CLARITY

When you read that statement, something hopefully clicked - that moment of clarity, if only a fleeting realisationl, that it really does make no sense to expect results from nothingness.

Only by realising that we are the true influence of our own happiness can we begin to alter our approach to situations and ultimately improve our well-being. Only then can we muster up the courage to take initiative and seize the results we want instead of waiting for them to come along.

This is one of my favourite quotes, it's powerful and provocative -

"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them" - Albert Einstein

And how true is that. Negative thinking - the "half-empty" approach - will almost always yield negative results. If you believe "I'm not good enough", or "What's the point?", then the goals and aspirations you have can slip through your fingers.

But by altering your perspective and trying to see the positive, you can begin to accommodate the good that is trying to make its way into your life. This is a step towards happiness.

"What are my biggest challenges to achieving happiness, and how can I overcome them?"

To answer your question, the biggest challenge I need to overcome is to put my job second. My family needs to come first, but unfortunately this is rarely the case. I think that by making an effort to make the people in my life happy, I will be happy in turn.

"What are my biggest challenges to achieving happiness, and how can I overcome them?"

I need to find myself. To be honest, although I have everything I need in life (health, friends, family financial stability), I do not know what I want to do with my life. Perhaps my 'tender' age of 26 has something to do with it. Everyone keeps saying that I will eventually figure it out and I really pray that I do. I do not want to go through life without knowing my purpose!

Does anyone have any tips as to what I can do to start the process of learning about myself!?

Hi guys. Thanks for the comments. I'm so glad that you took this to heart and asked yourself the question I posed. To Radha, I've been there myself, and if you continue to sacrifice yourself for the benefit of others you'll find that you aren't happy yourself. Life is a balance and a lot of people struggle to find this balance. If you can find this balance though you'll find your happiness increasing and this really will wash off on those around you. Family is so important and you can inject happiness into that dynamic by improving your own. People have a profound nature to detect happiness and I myself can detect negative attitudes - if I keep myself in this environment for long enough I find myself becoming unhappy, even though I'm a happy person. Can you adjust your work-life in a practical way to improve your happiness and give this back to your family?

To Cezary, if you could perhaps elaborate on your comment we could discuss this further. Life is a test and so rarely do people pass with flying colors. I would love to talk to you more, generally of course. If I can have the slightest positive impact on you I'll be a happy man.

To Jerry, you sir are dong fantastically in many respects. You realize the positive things you have in life, and that's not to say that other people, such as Radha, don't realize the great things they have - such as a loving family - but this will carry you a long way. I know many people that didn't find their true calling until much later on in their life. You will undoubtedly find many things crossing your path - possibilities, opportunities - but you will realize where you're meant to be. I like to remind myself that inspiration will never be found - it instead chooses to reveal itself when it wants to - and you will no doubt see this moment when it arises. There is no need to hope for this though, it will happen, when it's meant to, and you'll look back on this moment and realize that every path you walked to get you here was necessary. Life is a learning curve and provided you treat it attentively you'll get to exactly where you need to be. Continue to apply yourself and try to create opportunities for yourself and everything will slot into place. I've been here myself, many times, and it can be very disheartening to feel like you don't have a purpose but you'll soon find it. Be yourself, be honest, use the skills that you have and you'll soon feel that sense of purpose. To have self-made security in any aspect of life is a blessing but we can always improve ourselves. It just comes down to our perspective. I've heard of many a man who has been happy living with the bare essentials and this merely serves to show that happiness is what you make of it and you have the power to obtain it. If I can talk to you any more about this Jerry please let me know. It's great to converse and share perspectives.

    Take care guys.
